Ornamental iron fencing will beautify your home or business, and increase the property value. It’s also a versatile fencing solution, since you can custom design your own pattern, or choose from a wide array of popular fence styles.
Ornamental Iron Fences
Ornamental iron is a classic fencing solution. It’s rich, formal appearance adds elegance to any property line. It’s also strong and durable, and offers security without blocking the view. Black iron fence is ideal along wood lines, bushes, or any scenic area, because it blends with the shadows of the Hill Country landscape.
You can choose from several different styles of ornamental iron fences:
Picket Top Fence
With this fence style, the pickets extend above the top rail and below the bottom rail. The top of the pickets can be square top or “Pinch Point.” Decorative points made of steel or vinyl can also be added to the tops of the pickets for a distinctive ‘Old European’ or “French” look, which also adds more security. You can add a gothic flair by alternating the picket height along the fence or alternating finnials. Short Pickets can be added to keep in small pets.
Rail Top Fencing
The simple, clean lines of this design help maintain a stately, dignified look. Perfect for pools and shorter fences.
These ornamental iron fences do not have the pickets above the top rail or below the bottom rail to snag animals, children, clothes or anything else.
Each fence is galvanized steel and painted with a powder coat process that resists paint peel or flaking.
Double Rail Fences
When situations require greater fence heights, or when the fence must withstand heavier vertical loads, a double top rail can be added to increase the strength of the fence. Adding the third rail also strengthens this traditional classic look by as much as 50 percent. The double top rail is an ideal accent to any Austin residence or commercial fence.
Arched Iron Fence
Choosing to arch or scallop the top rail of the fence can add a southern style.
Fence Adornments
Some Austin homeowners add adornments (such as scroll work in between the pickets or decorative tops on top of the pickets) to transform an elegant standard design into a unique, artistic showpiece.
These are custom changes and are only limited by your creativity and budget
Iron Fence Colors
If the standard black coated galvanized iron isn’t what you imagined, you can choose bronze, brown, white, or desert sand. Additional colors can be custom made.
Custom Fence Designs
Our welders can make any fence or handrail design a reality. You design, we hand-craft and install a unique, Austin, Tx design. We take the galvanized iron bars, balusters, scrolls, picket castings and accessories that you select and weld them into a unique fence design. Austex then sends it to be powder coated, a paint process that bonds the paint to the iron for longer lasting beauty.
Finials
Austex Fence and Deck has access to a wide variety of fence adornments in several metals and vinyl.
There are picket tops like spears, stars, balls, french Fleur-de-lys or a combination. There are standard post caps or custom ones available with balls, pineapples, stars, spears or acorns.
Pinch Point Top
An economical way to have a spear point look without the cost of adding finials is to have panels installed that have the pickets “pinched” to a point instead of cut square.
